Program Overview

The Master of Engineering in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MEng in MAE) features coursework in both aerospace and mechanical engineering, providing students with fundamental engineering knowledge in the broad set of core disciplines required in these fields. Cutting-edge coursework includes additive manufacturing, drone design and analysis, and smart manufacturing. Students also have the option to complete an advanced manufacturing specialization.

The online programs are taught by industry experts who also teach on campus. Students will further benefit from attending a graduate program at an excellent institution. Rutgers is ranked No. 15 Public University and No. 62 Best Graduate Engineering School by U.S. News & World Report.

Rutgers is the only public university in New Jersey to offer an aerospace degree.

Students have the opportunity to attend weekly online lectures live or can view the recording at a later time that best suits their schedules. Assignments include hands-on problem-solving with real-world applications, presentations, and projects. Students also complete an in-depth study, analysis, and design for an engineering project as part of their studies.

A Rutgers mechanical and aerospace engineering degree is an excellent opportunity for individuals to refresh their skills and learn new ones. Our graduates master the essential theories of practice in mechanical and aerospace engineering to prepare for advanced employment in their field.

“We consider it our job to help students form industry connections. This varies from individual connections to institutional support, including career fairs and the career guidance and development center. We have events year-round to help students network. We also have an industry advisory board.”

Hao Lin, PhD, Professor, Packaging Engineering Undergraduate Director, Master of Engineering in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
